People Magazine has followed other publications in reporting untrue and inaccurate information about Michael Jackson and the Jackson Family. Of these widely reported rumors, what has become the most troubling and heronious, is that my son, and our brother Michael Jackson is dependent on painkillers and alcohol.
People, and other news organizations, have quoted “sources” indicating that our family has attempted a drug intervention, and engaged in an effort to take over his business affairs, because of this alleged drug and alcohol usage.
We categorically deny ever planning, participating in, of having knowledge of any kind of intervention whatsoever. We strongly believe that these “sources” and others, no matter who they are, are making these defamatory, inaccurate, and untrue claims for monetary reasons.
Michael Jackson and the Jackson family has endured years of false accusations and misrepresentations.
It is time for these unfair and hurtful rumors for profit to end.

Das People Magazin ist anderen Veröffentlichungen damit gefolgt, unwahre und fehlerhafte Informationen über Michael Jackson und die Familie Jackson zu berichten. Von diesen weit verbreiteten Gerüchten ist das schlimmste, dass mein Sohn und unser Bruder Michael Jackson von Schmerzmitteln und Alkohol abhängig sein soll.
People und andere Nachrichtenorganisationen haben Quellen “zitiert”, die andeuten, dass unsere Familie in die Sache eingreift und sich wegen seines angeblichen Drogen und Alkoholgebrauchs bemüht, seine geschäftlichen Angelegenheiten zu übernehmen.
Wir streiten kategorisch jede Einmischung und auch jegliches Wissen über irgendwelche Art von Interventionen ab. Wir glauben fest daran, dass diese „Quellen“ und andere, egal wer sie sind, diese diffamierenden, fehlerhaften und unwahren Behauptungen aus finanziellen Gründen aufstellen.
Michael Jackson und die Jackson Familie haben jahrelang falsche Beschuldigungen und ungenaue Darstellungen ertragen.
Es ist Zeit, dass diese unfairen und schmerzenden Gerüchte, aus Profitsucht entstanden, endlich aufhören.
